Over a year and a half ago we launched Stribe and rebranded from our original product ‘tootoot workplace’ (big hello to those of you that have been with us since the tootoot workplace days!).
Since then, we’ve added great features like Shout-outs and Surveys, and we’re getting amazing signs that our customers really love us. Over 90% of everyone who joins Stribe are still with us after 12 months! And our latest update to our pulse reports signals the end of spreadsheets and data analysis for good. Instead, you get instant insights and can make real change that matters.
But at the start of the year something still wasn’t feeling quite right. The last couple of years have changed workplaces dramatically and we needed to evolve to keep in step. We felt like we should be doing more. So, we embarked on a mission to set that straight.
Working with the super-smart brains over at White Bear, the first thing we did was have a think about the memorable brands in our own lives. And, more importantly, why they were memorable for us. We talked about some of the Stribe team’s favourite brands including Headspace, Airbnb and Monzo.
What we realised was that a lot of their success comes from the incredible connections they’ve built with the people who interact with them. How? They clearly communicate what they stand for. Not only that, but they go above and beyond. They know that customers don’t just care about their products and services. Customers care about the mission they’re on, the values they hold and the promise they’re making to them.
This is when things started to click. The thing is, your brand isn’t just your colour palette or your font (can you tell this is written by a marketer?) but how your company looks, feels and acts. All of this combined creates a personality, something that resonates and relates to the people we care about the most, you.
We found that our old brand wasn’t reflective of our upbeat, positive, and characterful personality; or the positive changes we had been creating in workplaces for the last 18 months. We focused on what our technology (as amazing as it is) could do for you, rather than the safe, happy employees and workplaces we help create. Our mission had become diluted over time as we learned, and changed, and grew.
As with everything in life, there needs to be adjustments along the way. As our customers’ needs have evolved, our business and products evolved too but we never took a minute to sit and think about what that meant for our mission, vision and values! After going through this process, we saw where our brand was really strong, and where it needed some work.
With this rebrand, we set out to retain the human, fun-loving and friendly elements that have endeared our earliest customers to Stribe while creating space for the brand to grow and connect with even more organisations in the future!
We didn’t want to lose our roots in the process, so we focused on capturing the essence of what Stribe is first. We distilled these into our new values that we’ll live in all elements of our work:
We care about our customers, using their experiences and our own to develop our understanding and empathy. This allows us to build strong long-lasting relationships that really make a difference.
We believe that nothing it too small. We love getting into the detail and aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty. For us it’s the best way to get a deeper understanding of our customers’ world.
We believe in keeping things simple, why add complexity when it isn’t needed? We want employee engagement to be accessible to everyone by making Stribe simple and easy to use.
We empower our customers with the confidence to make decisions that will positively impact their workplace. Our platform is built with our customers in mind, helping them make sense of complex data in order to make the right choices for their workplace.
We’re focused on our customer, being led by them and what is important to them. We listen and react to our users, developing a product built on empathy and understanding.
Along with our new values we updated our Mission and Vision too. They speak to the essence of what Stribe stood for before (creating better teams) but make a stronger, more aspirational statement that really capture our values perfectly.
Mission: We know that in our busy work lives teams change and grow and workloads heave and flow. How do you make sure everyone is OK? We help teams to be heard, taking their small insights day by day leading to real change that matters… because when people are heard, teams are happy.
Vision: Creating collaborative workplaces that great people thrive in, making every Monday feel like Friday.
With our new mission, vision and values comes a new look. We’ve updated our logo, typeface, colours, illustrations and photography. Our website, product and apps have had a huge facelift too.
We champion simplicity, a human approach, and being tuned in because that’s what helps us – and our customers – achieve amazing things. We believe nothing is too small because we love getting into the detail, that’s where the good stuff is! We hope to embolden our customers’, giving them the confidence to advocate for – and create – positive changes in their workplace.
This update has given us an amazing foundation to shout about how we create happier teams. We couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds for Stribe and we’re pleased to have you join us on the journey!
