Say hello to Survey Tune
Introducing Survey Tune and our updated survey builder – two brand new ways that will help you create the best employee surveys possible.
Read MoreThe SurveyMonkey brand is synonymous with surveys – they’re a well-known and loved US company with thousands of customers around the world.
Their surveys are easy to create, share with others, and give great insights.
But SurveyMonkey isn’t your only option.
Especially if you’re a UK-based employer looking for a local alternative that can offer better value for money and more importantly, UK data storage protection and processing.
Read on to learn why Stribe is your best UK-based alternative to SurveyMonkey.
Not really. SurveyMonkey offers an anonymous survey option, however it’s in the hands of the survey creator to make this decision.
At Stribe, anonymity is our top priority. Anonymity gives employees freedom to provide honest, authentic and meaningful feedback – and we will always stand by this.
Our guarantee is that Stribe is, and always will be, fully anonymous. Only employees will ever be able to reveal their own identity if they wish to.
At the time of writing, SurveyMonkey (UK) costs start at £33 per month for Individual Plans.
Team Plans started from £60 (£20 per user, per month minimum 3 users).
These are basic starting plans, and if you want more features, you’ll need to upgrade.
No.
The UK has specific data protection laws, like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which give businesses clear rules on how personal data should be handled. As a UK-based business, you might prefer to store and process data in the UK for these reasons.
Stribe is a UK-based organisation, and we securely store and process all your user data in the UK.
SurveyMonkey does not make the same guarantee.

SurveyMonkeys UK pricing and plans can get a little more complicated. At the time of writing this article:

Once you’re signed up with Stribe, you will have access to creating unlimited surveys and unlimited responses – no caps or strings attached. With SurveyMonkey, you must purchase an Enterprise level plan to receive unlimited responses.
Any plan lower than Enterprise level has a limit to the number of responses you can receive, and if you exceed this limit you will be charged £0.15 per additional response.

Is SurveyMonkey anonymous? Not really. SurveyMonkey offers an anonymous survey option, however it’s in the hands of the survey creator to make this decision.
Some employers might prefer this option – and that’s fine. But research has shown time and time again that employees highly value anonymous feedback channels, and are more likely to speak-up and be more genuine when their identities are protected.
At Stribe we’re pretty proud to have a handful of unique features that even the big survey brands can’t offer (including SurveyMonkey) – and that’s because we’re always in communication with our customers about what they need and value most.
The first is our Anonymous Messenger feature – think of it like Slack or Teams, but messages are sent directly to Stribe admins anonymously, who can manage and resolve team concerns quickly.
Admins cannot see who has sent the messages. Only employees will ever be able to reveal their identity if they choose too. Check out more below.
It’s also possible to follow-up anonymous feedback if you need more context or information (without revealing an employee’s identify).
When answering a ‘Follow-up question’ within a survey, employees will see a check box allowing them to choose whether they want to receive a message in response to their feedback. If an employee feels comfortable to tick ‘Yes’, they will remain anonymous.
By default, the option is ‘Off’ so no one can never mistakenly agree. If they do agree, a button will appear within their response in the survey report. Admins can use this to create a message directly from their comment.
These messages are managed within Stribe in the same way as our current anonymous messenger feature.
At Stribe, we’re here when you need us and you’ll always have the support of a dedicated customer success manager to support you along your journey.
SurveyMonkey only offers dedicated support at Enterprise level, and it’s considered an “add-on feature” which needs to be purchased separately.
Believe it or not, there’s plenty more where that came from.
